Changing your habits to change your results
Habits.
Using tools and techniques to re-set your emotional state, improve your self-image and to visualise and project positive body language might seem a strange and uncomfortable concept for some, but if you use that as an excuse not to take action, then that is just highlighting the problem.
When I’m speaking to players I use the analogy of baking a cake. If it doesn’t taste good then you would change the ingredients. It's the same with self-belief and confidence, as well as all the other aspects of mindset and attitude.
If you have the potential to improve at an aspect then why would you keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results? It just doesn't make sense to me.
It’s the definition of insanity to keep doing the same things yet expect a different result, so you’ve got to change how you look at things and change how you think.
You have to start somewhere. These are all just habits.
So if your inner voice tells you that it’s difficult to start doing things differently then replace it with a more positive approach: ‘I can do it’, and ‘I will do it.’ Change the way you speak to yourself.
Eventually, new habits will be formed and you won’t be able to (and won’t want to) go back to how you were.
I genuinely believe that we can all achieve more if we put our minds to it.
